Teen football leagues to give exposure to academy players

PUTRAJAYA, May 19 — The National Football Development Programme (NFDP) has introduced two teenager football leagues to ensure that National Football Academy players get enough exposure.
Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said they are Tunas Academy League for players from 10 to 12 years old and the NFDP League for players from 13 to 17 years old.
“This is the first time that Malaysia has a complete football league for the teenager squad.
“I hope these leagues can produce more young players,” he said after the agreement signing between the NFDP and Adidas Malaysia.
Via the collaboration, Adidas Malaysia provides sponsorship amounting to RM1.2 million for three years involving supply of jersey and sports equipment for the NFDP squad.
