PETALING JAYA: Pahang skipper Mohd Razman Roslan has urged his team-mates to draw inspiration from their recent wins to beat club side Sime Darby in their Super League match at the Darul Makmur Stadium.
The Elephants, last year’s FA Cup and Malaysia Cup champions, are still winless after three matches and are 10th in the 12-team league. Razman, however, believes the east coast side are back at their best following back-to-back wins in the AFC Cup and the FA Cup second round last week.
Pahang edged Yadanarbon of Myanmar 3-2 in their AFC Cup Group G match on Feb 25 and knocked out bitter rivals Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in the FA Cup with a 4-2 win on penalties after the match ended 1-1 in extra time on Monday.
Said the 30-year-old centreback Razman: “We are still looking for a win in the league. But based on our wins in the last two matches, I’m confident that we will break our duck soon.
“It took us some time to find our rhythm. Things are looking up now after the two hard-earned wins over Yadanarbon and JDT. Now, we need to keep this winning momentum going in the Super League.”
For Razman, he believes Pahang will solve their goalscoring woes once their strikers – Nigerian Dickson Nwakaeme and Argentinian Matias Conti – start to click.
“Our strikeforce needs to be more prolific ... we will start winning when Nwakaeme and Conti start firing on all cylinders,” added the Kajang-born player.
